Who has to be certified? Anyone (sole proprietorship, LLC, non-profit, etc.) receiving any type of compensation for work on a residence built before 1978 when a painted surface will be disturbed. Also any firm that conducts this type of business must also be certified. If you are a property manager or real estate broker that works (repair/rehab/renovate) on a residence built before 1978 at least one of your staff must be certified and your company needs to be certified. You need an EPA Firm certificate and a EPA Certified Renovator Certificate.

MCE is an EPA accredited training provider, you will be certified in all but 10 states that have their own certification program, Kansas and Iowa have their own program. If you take our class you will have to take a free online test administered by Kansas within 30 days of completing the class BEFORE you can work in Kansas, you must also get a Kansas Firm Certificate.
